Planning Your Horsebox
The initial concept of your own custom horsebox can be a little daunting to those that have never owned a horsebox or considered the idea before. This is why our owner is happy to sit down and talk you through the options available to you and advise on suitable layouts to suit the needs you address. For those who have owned similar vehicles in the past, it will be easier for them to envisage the finished product and specify what additions they would like included into the build.
First and foremost, the number of horses intended to be transported will govern the amount of space required for the horse area in the rear. Partition spacing is fully adjustable to allow a range of horse sizes to be stalled together, and are built in house so can be manufactured to a height specified by yourself to be sure that your animal's safety is ensured.

While we like to think of our entry level horseboxes as affordable, please don't assume this means that the quality is in any way substandard. Years of experience have enabled us to gain an extensive knowledge of available materials which give a comfortable and aesthetically pleasing finish as well as a functional, easy to clean interior. This coupled with our ability to carry out all aspects of the build from start to finish at our own premises means we are able to keep the costs down, and pass these savings onto our customers. For those seeking a more luxurious appearance to their living area, we are happy to offer you a variety of suitable materials and upholstery to choose from which can be incorporated into your build. Alternatively we can appreciate that some customers may be or may know carpenters or kitchen fitters and we are happy to leave the living area unfinished to a level of your choice for you to complete this area yourselves.
As standard we provide a fold out step for access into the living area, and can facilitate either a rear or side ramp for horse loading. Each Horse stall will have a window front and rear which can be opened to provide ventilation. We advise an above cab luton sleeping area, fabricated to allow the cab to tilt for engine access if necessary, a cut through from cab through to seating area and a grooms door to provide easy access from seating / living area through to horse area in the rear. From then it's a case of what do you require? Sink, cooker, fridge, oven, television, toilet, shower, extra sleeping? Seating and table combinations can be built to allow them to convert into an extra bed area when required.
Stoves require a gas supply and fridges are available to run on gas, 12v dc or 240v ac power. A gas powered water heater can provide you with a useful hot water supply if need be. However, while we are happy to fit all appliances, due to certification requirements for insurance purposes regarding gas installations in vehicles, we are able to run all pipe work from appliances to the location of the intended gas supply, but we are unable to connect the pipe work to the appliances. We are however happy to supply you with the details of a local company that will inspect, connect and certificate the installation.
Externally, lockers are available in a variety of dimensions for installation into the skirt panels to allow secure storage of equipment without compromising on internal space. These can accommodate an external generator if required, to provide a self sufficient source of electricity when hook ups are not available. When installed with a secondary charging system, this can allow the replenishment of the leisure battery to ensure that all the systems remain fully functional throughout the night when the running of generators through the night is not permitted. This charging system will also be wired into the hook up cabling to enable the vehicle to top up the batteries charge while parked and connected to an external 240v supply.
We pride ourselves on working closely with the client and where possible, we actively encourage visits to see the progress made with their conversion. This helps to ensure that any details requested that looked great on the designs but maybe less practical now they can be visualised can be altered as soon as possible to cause minimal disruption to the build and keep it on schedule for completion.
Where necessary, we can accommodate for children and are able to install a television in conjunction with a DVD / games console to provide entertainment in the evenings if so desired. Wherever possible we really will do our best to ensure that your build ends up exactly how you desire, and provides a safe and secure place for both your animals and your family / entourage to spend time at the events you attend in as much comfort as you desire.
